Sunday was day to be happy and sad. The Chargers continued what looks to be a dismal season. I hope they can turn it around and soon. Meanwhile, the Angels are in the post-season again. Now I wait and see who they will face. Either way, they are in. Whoohoo!!
Month: September 2007
Ahoy there scoundrels and scalawags!

Today be International Talk Like A Pirate Day so ye best be minding your P’s and Qs lest ye find yourself keelhauled and thrown overboard. Arrrrr!!!
Pardon the banging noise!
That is the sound of me hitting my head after the disgraceful play of my Chargers last night. After the first two games, I have a “it’s one of those years” feelings. I will remain a fan regardless, but if they continue to look as poorly as they did last night, I will certainly be banging my head more. At least the Angels are looking good for post-season play.

Who do you meet at a blood drive?
I stopped after work to make my regular blood donation (and get my coupon for two free tacos). Next to me is a guy that seems familiar, but it is not until I see his name that I recognize him. I went to elementary/high school with him. I turn around and give him my name and we talk for a moment before he moves to the next station. I then have one of the ladies waiting tell me her name and she also went to school with me. After I catch up with the guy, he tells me that they are married and that another classmate is also at the blood drive. Once I hit the “cantina” after donating, I spend most of the time catching up with my three classmates. Who do you meet at a blood drive? Twenty-three years after graduating high school, I run into three classmates who also donated blood. They stayed here in my hometown, while I moved away for 18 years and then came back.
Back from Vegas
I returned Saturday from Photoshop World in Las Vegas. It’s a conference put on by NAPP(National Association of Photoshop Professionals, 70,000+ members). I had a great time and stayed at the Desert Rose Resort. It was like having an apartment in Vegas without the noise and smoke of the casino. I had a great time and was able to meet up with people from the NAPP forum as well as the guys from PhotoshopUserTV at the House of Blues. Here is a brief video. I enjoyed the conference, but it was nice to be back with my family afterward.
Relaxing Labor Daybor
We had a relaxing Labor Day Weekend. We ran to the mall for an oil change and car(truck)wash. We stopped by Barnes & Nobel to pick up my reserve copy of Inferno, the new Legacy of the Force Star Wars book. We went to the not-quite-a-dollar($3.50) theater and watched Ratatoullie. That afternoon we sat on the porch and enjoyed watching the lightning from nearby storms and even got a few sprinkles. Sunday morning, we enjoyed service live from Lakewood Church in Houston, TX for the first time in over 2 years. Jesse and I enjoyed a few rounds of LAN gaming(AOE III & UT2004). We cooked up a few Brats and had some potato salad yesterday. By last night, I had finished the new novel to cap off a pretty relaxing weekend.
